Stock Exchange of Thailand Updates Listing Rules to Attract Global Firms

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is revising its listing criteria starting September 11, 2026, to facilitate easier capital raising for new economy businesses and international companies.

According to Prachachat Business, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has announced a significant overhaul of its listing regulations, effective September 11, 2026. The initiative aims to transform the Thai capital market into a regional hub for international fundraising by simplifying the entry process for specific sectors.

The new framework introduces a 'Special Track' and 'Secondary Listing' options, specifically targeting ten 'New Economy' industries. Additionally, the policy eases requirements for companies operating under Board of Investment (BOI) or Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) incentives, as well as prominent foreign corporations. By lowering barriers to entry, the SET intends to diversify its market offerings and attract a broader range of global investment.

For residents and expatriates, this shift may signal a broader push to modernize Thailand’s financial infrastructure and increase the presence of international brands and innovative firms within the local economy. While these changes are set to take effect shortly, the long-term impact on market stability and the specific list of foreign companies that will choose to utilize these new listing pathways remain to be confirmed. Investors and observers should monitor how these regulatory adjustments influence the composition of the Thai stock market in the coming months.
