According to a report by Khaosod Online on September 4, 2026, tattoo parlors in Pattaya are experiencing a significant increase in business following the arrival of U.S. Navy ships at the Laem Chabang port in Chon Buri province.
For several months prior to this visit, local tattoo shop operators reported a quiet business environment with minimal foot traffic, struggling to cover overhead costs such as rent, equipment, and staff wages. The influx of U.S. military personnel seeking leisure and shopping in Pattaya has provided a much-needed economic boost to the area.
Management at Glory Tattoo Pattaya, located in Soi 8, noted that the increased patronage has helped alleviate financial pressures. Popular tattoo requests among the visiting personnel include portraiture, religious and spiritual themes—such as depictions of Jesus, angels, and devils—as well as designs reflecting personal life experiences.
For residents and travelers, this development highlights the cyclical nature of Pattaya’s tourism-dependent economy, where the presence of international naval visits can significantly impact local service sectors.
