Thailand Proposes 60% Clean Energy Requirement for Data Centres

According to a report by the Thai Enquirer, the National Data Centre Business Policy Committee has initiated plans to implement new minimum standards for the country's data centre industry. During its inaugural meeting held on Friday, the committee proposed a requirement that data centres must source at least 60% of their electricity from clean energy sources.

To facilitate this transition, the committee has established four dedicated subcommittees tasked with overseeing infrastructure, economic benefits, building standards, and other relevant areas. The government aims to formalize these standards within the next month.

For residents and expatriates, this development signals Thailand's commitment to sustainable digital infrastructure.
