Well-known Thai actor and philanthropist Bin Bunluerit has provided financial aid to a 47-year-old woman suffering from advanced facial cancer who is struggling to support herself and two blind acquaintances.
On September 4, 2026, Thai media outlet Khaosod Online reported that actor and philanthropist Bin Bunluerit intervened to assist 47-year-old Supansa Sappho, who is battling cancer that has spread from her face to her nasal cavity and eyes. Due to the severity of her condition, Ms. Supansa has lost her sight and part of her face, requiring her to keep the area covered with gauze.
Originally from Sakon Nakhon, Ms. Supansa moved to Bangkok after exhausting her savings on medical treatments in her home province. She currently earns a modest income of 300 to 400 baht daily by singing in public spaces. However, high transportation costs often consume her entire daily earnings. Despite her own hardships, she has taken in a blind couple who previously assisted her, citing a desire to repay their past kindness. Ms. Supansa has expressed a hope to undergo reconstructive surgery and eventually return to her hometown with enough capital to sustain herself without relying on others. Bin Bunluerit provided an initial donation of 20,000 baht to support her immediate needs.
For residents and visitors, this story highlights the ongoing challenges faced by vulnerable populations in Bangkok’s informal economy. While this act of charity provides temporary relief, the long-term feasibility of her medical treatment and her goal of returning to Sakon Nakhon remain to be confirmed.
