Democrat Party Investigates Alleged Local Government Exam Fraud
The Democrat Party is preparing to submit evidence of alleged corruption in local government recruitment exams to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).
On September 4, 2026, representatives from the Democrat Party (DP) announced progress in their investigation into alleged irregularities regarding local government civil service recruitment exams. Party spokesperson Pongsakorn Kwanmuang and legal committee member Paisal Ruangrit stated that they are compiling evidence to present to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).
The investigation focuses on reports of bribery involving candidates and brokers. Paisal noted that the party has prepared 72 specific questions to assist the NACC in examining the alleged corruption process. The party’s legal team is currently tracking financial trails related to these claims.
For residents and those interested in public sector employment, this case highlights potential systemic issues within government recruitment processes. The investigation was prompted by numerous complaints, including reports of candidates receiving zero scores despite being confident in their performance, and concerns regarding the conduct of exam proctors who allegedly wore ambiguous uniforms.
While the Democrat Party is actively pursuing these allegations, the NACC has yet to conclude its review of the evidence. The extent of the fraud and the specific individuals involved remain subject to official verification by the anti-corruption authorities.
