Parents Seek Justice After 5-Year-Old Punished at School
A 5-year-old boy in Thailand allegedly suffered emotional distress after a teacher's aide forced him to stand outside his classroom without clothes as punishment for incomplete schoolwork.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, parents of a 5-year-old boy have sought assistance from the Pavena Hongsakula Foundation for Children and Women following an incident at his school. The parents allege that on August 27, 2026, a teacher’s aide punished their son for failing to finish a coloring assignment by forcing him to remove his clothes and stand in front of the classroom.
The child’s family reported that the incident caused the boy significant distress, leading to symptoms of depression, loss of appetite, sleep disturbances, and a refusal to return to school. The parents expressed frustration that the school administration did not take disciplinary action against the teacher’s aide after they initially raised the issue. Consequently, the family filed a report with the Rat Burana Police Station and approached the foundation to request the formation of a committee to investigate the matter and hold the staff member accountable.
For residents and expatriates, this case highlights ongoing concerns regarding child protection standards and disciplinary practices within local educational institutions. While the foundation is currently coordinating with relevant authorities to address the parents' grievances, the school’s official response and the findings of any formal investigation remain to be confirmed.
