Thai Police Respond to Unusual Late-Night Request in Nonthaburi
Officers from Rattanathibet Police Station were dispatched to a dormitory in Nonthaburi following a resident's request to remove a gecko from her room.
On September 4, 2026, at approximately 3:00 a.m., two patrol officers from the Rattanathibet Police Station in Nonthaburi province responded to a call for assistance from a female resident at a local dormitory. According to Khaosod Online, the resident requested police intervention to remove a gecko that had entered her living space.
Upon arrival, the officers, accompanied by the dormitory owner and the resident, conducted a search of the room. Despite spending nearly 30 minutes inspecting potential hiding spots, the officers were unable to locate the animal. Due to the late hour and concerns about disturbing other residents with noise, the officers concluded the search and advised the resident to contact the dormitory caretaker should the gecko reappear.
Pol. Col. Pruet Jamroonsart, Superintendent of Rattanathibet Police Station, stated that the department maintains a policy of responding to all public requests for help, regardless of the nature of the incident. He emphasized that if a citizen feels distressed enough to call for assistance, the police are obligated to respond.
