Thai Parliament Schedules Final Budget Debates for Fiscal Year 2027

According to a report by Khaosod Online, House Speaker Sophon Sarum has scheduled the second and third readings of the 2027 Fiscal Year Budget Bill for September 7–9, 2026. Following review by the extraordinary committee, the total budget remains set at 3.788 trillion baht, though significant internal adjustments have been proposed.

The committee has approved a reduction of over 11.16 billion baht from various ministerial budgets. Of these funds, approximately 10.89 billion baht will be reallocated to government agencies as proposed by the Cabinet, while 271 million baht is earmarked for the Parliament, courts, independent constitutional organizations, and the Office of the Attorney General. Additionally, 6 billion baht is slated to be moved into the central budget and revolving funds.

For residents and travelers, these parliamentary proceedings are significant as they dictate the funding levels for public services, infrastructure projects, and environmental initiatives managed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
