Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Phuket Home
Authorities in Phuket are investigating the death of a 51-year-old man found with a gunshot wound inside his residence.
On the evening of September 3, 2026, police in Chalong, Phuket, were called to a residence following reports of a fatal shooting. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, officers arrived at the scene to find a 51-year-old man, identified as Mr. Sunthorn, deceased on a chair with a gunshot wound to the mouth. A firearm was discovered in the immediate vicinity of the body.
Police Lieutenant Bundit Khamkaew of the Chalong Police Station stated that the incident was reported at approximately 10:00 p.m. The victim's wife, who was present at the time, reported to investigators that there had been no prior arguments or conflicts leading up to the incident.
For residents and visitors in the area, this event is currently being treated as an isolated incident within a private home. Local authorities, led by Police Colonel Surasak Jaidee, have secured the scene and initiated a formal investigation. Investigators are currently gathering evidence and conducting forensic examinations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
