On September 3, 2026, a violent altercation occurred on Koh Tao, Surat Thani province, resulting in the death of a 63-year-old man. According to reports from Khaosod Online Thailand, local police were alerted to a stabbing incident at a curry shop located between the Boonsiri and Lomprayah piers.
Upon arrival, officers discovered significant bloodstains at the scene. The victim, identified as Mr. Sorachai, was transported to Koh Tao Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police identified the suspect as 40-year-old Mr. Jirasak, also known as Golf. Preliminary investigations suggest the two men were former business partners in a tattoo shop and had a long-standing personal conflict. The suspect allegedly encountered the victim at the eatery, where a verbal argument escalated into a physical attack using a knife found at the premises.
Following the incident, the suspect attempted to flee the island but was apprehended by authorities at the Lomprayah pier.
