According to Khaosod Online, Pattaya is currently hosting personnel from the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and its accompanying fleet, who are visiting the city for rest and recreation between September 2 and 6, 2026. Chutima Jiramongkol, President of the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association, noted that the visit occurs during the traditional low season, a period when many local businesses typically undergo renovations due to lower visitor numbers.

With approximately 5,000 sailors arriving after spending over 200 days at sea, the influx is expected to stimulate local spending and enhance Pattaya’s global image as a travel destination.
