According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, an elderly couple from Chiang Mai received a full refund of 85,800 THB from a beauty clinic located within a local shopping mall. The dispute arose after the couple’s daughter alleged that clinic staff had solicited her parents at a booth, subsequently using their credit card to charge nearly 100,000 THB for skincare products and courses without their clear consent.
On September 2, 2026, the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) facilitated a mediation session between the parties. Following the agreement, the clinic returned the funds, and the couple withdrew their police complaint, with both sides agreeing not to pursue further legal action.
