Police Officer Injured in Chachoengsao During Drug-Related Incident
A police officer was wounded in Chachoengsao province after a man experiencing a drug-induced episode seized a service weapon during an arrest attempt.
On September 3, 2026, a violent confrontation occurred in the Sala Daeng sub-district of Bang Nam Priao, Chachoengsao, resulting in injuries to a police officer. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, local police were summoned by a 63-year-old man to assist with his 33-year-old son, identified as Mr. Apisit, who was reportedly exhibiting erratic behavior and causing a disturbance while locked inside a room.
Upon arrival, officers observed the individual damaging the interior walls of the residence. As police attempted to enter the room to secure the scene, the suspect reportedly jumped through a window to escape. During the ensuing struggle, the suspect managed to seize a service weapon from an officer and discharged it three times. One of the shots struck a police officer, identified as a Police Lance Corporal, who was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment. The suspect was eventually apprehended by authorities.
