Nan Province Farmers Receive Free Agricultural Machinery Repairs Following Floods
The Department of Agricultural Extension is offering free repair services for flood-damaged farming equipment in Nan province from September 12–15, 2026.
Following severe flooding, flash floods, and landslides caused by heavy rainfall between August 19 and 21, 2026, the Thai government is stepping in to assist farmers in Nan province. According to Khaosod Online, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Piyarat Tiyapairat announced that the Department of Agricultural Extension will provide free repair services for agricultural machinery and equipment from September 12 to 15, 2026.
The initiative aims to assist farmers in districts such as Bo Kluea, Tha Wang Pha, and Mueang Nan, where equipment damage has threatened the ability of locals to resume agricultural production. The Department of Agricultural Extension, led by Director-General Anchalee Suwajittanont, has mobilized local agricultural mechanics to repair a target of 250 machines. This effort is intended to reduce the financial burden on farmers as they work to restore their livelihoods.
For residents and travelers in the region, this initiative highlights the ongoing recovery efforts in northern Thailand. While the repair program is scheduled for specific dates, those in the area should note that recovery operations may still be underway in affected districts. It remains to be confirmed whether the service capacity will be expanded beyond the initial target of 250 machines or if additional districts will be included in future support phases.
