Thai Sailing Team Prepares for 20th Asian Games in Japan

According to Khaosod Online, the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand is finalizing preparations for the 20th Asian Games, scheduled to take place in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, 2026. Admiral Chayut Navesphutikorn, Vice President of the association, announced that the Thai sailing team will travel to the host country early to train at the actual competition venue.

The Thai delegation consists of 12 athletes competing across eight sailing categories, including four single-handed boats and four double-handed boats. The sailing events are slated to run from September 26 to October 3, 2026. The team has been in intensive training since March and has participated in various competitions to prepare for the event. Association officials expressed optimism regarding the team's performance, projecting a total haul of three to four medals, with a specific target of securing at least one gold medal.
