Thailand Announces 10-Billion Baht Expropriation for New Nakhon Pathom-Pak Tho Motorway

According to a report by Prachachat Business, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has officially announced a shift in infrastructure focus. Following the launch of the M82 motorway (Bang Khun Thian-Ekachai-Ban Phaeo), the Ministry has stated that no further construction projects will be initiated on Rama II Road for the time being.

Instead, the government is prioritizing the development of the Nakhon Pathom-Pak Tho motorway. This project involves the expropriation of 5,338 rai of land, with a budget allocation of 10 billion baht designated for compensation.

For residents and frequent travelers, this shift is significant as it signals a temporary reprieve from the long-standing construction congestion on Rama II Road, which has historically been a major bottleneck for those traveling to Southern Thailand. By moving the focus to the Nakhon Pathom-Pak Tho route, the government aims to streamline regional connectivity.
