Thailand’s Digital Content Industry Projected to Reach 63 Billion Baht by 2028

According to a report from Khaosod Online, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) has released data indicating a positive trajectory for Thailand’s digital content industry. Supakorn Sittichai, acting president of depa, stated that the industry reached a total value of 53.417 billion baht in 2025, marking a 6% growth compared to the previous year.

Projections suggest this upward trend will continue over the next three years. The agency estimates the industry's value will reach 57.513 billion baht in 2026, 60.187 billion baht in 2027, and 63.168 billion baht by 2028. Key drivers for this expansion include strong performance in the PC gaming sector and a 31% surge in character design popularity.

For residents and travelers, this growth signals an expanding local creative economy, potentially leading to more Thai-developed digital entertainment and gaming experiences. The agency emphasized that the primary challenge moving forward is the development of Intellectual Property (IP) to create additional value for local entrepreneurs. While these figures provide a roadmap for industry growth, the actual realization of these targets remains subject to market conditions and the success of ongoing efforts to cultivate local IP.
