Authorities Seize Over 1,300 Illegal Tires in Samut Prakan
A joint task force has confiscated 1,341 substandard and tampered tires from 11 warehouses in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, valued at over 7 million baht.
On September 3, 2026, a joint operation led by the 'Top Gun' special task force and the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) conducted inspections across 11 tire retail warehouses in the Bang Phli district of Samut Prakan province. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the raid resulted in the seizure of 1,341 tires that were identified as either having tampered branding or being sold under false credentials. The total value of the confiscated goods is estimated at over 7 million baht.
This enforcement action follows a previous operation conducted on August 20, 2026, in Nonthaburi, which also targeted substandard automotive products. General Nakrob Boonbuathong, chairman of the committee overseeing the enforcement of industrial product standards under the Ministry of Industry, confirmed that the operation aimed to prevent unsafe, non-compliant tires from entering the public road network.
