Fatal Road Incident in Bangkok Involves Former Rescue Volunteer
A former rescue volunteer is under investigation after allegedly using his pickup truck to strike a motorcycle, resulting in two deaths in Bangkok.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, police are investigating a fatal incident that occurred on Ratchadaphisek Road in the Bang Sue district of Bangkok. Authorities state that a man identified as Mr. Songphon, a former rescue volunteer, allegedly drove his pickup truck into a Honda PCX motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, identified as Ms. Naritsara and Mr. Jetaphon.
Police Colonel Sakdidech Kampalanuwong of the Prachachuen Police Station held a meeting on September 3, 2026, to review the case progress. Investigators have begun interviewing relatives of the victims. The suspect is currently hospitalized at Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital with a lung injury and is expected to be transferred to the Police General Hospital for further treatment. Due to his medical condition, police have not yet been able to conduct an interrogation.
