Teenager Killed in Shooting Incident in Chaiyaphum
A 15-year-old boy has died following a shooting incident on the Chaiyaphum-Tat Ton road, with police currently holding three suspects.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a 15-year-old boy was fatally shot during a confrontation on the Chaiyaphum-Tat Ton road near the entrance to Ban Nong Bo, Chaiyaphum province. The incident occurred in the early hours of September 3, 2026. Reports indicate that the victim was riding a motorcycle with a friend when they were pursued by a group of teenagers. During the pursuit, the victim was struck by three gunshots and subsequently passed away at Chaiyaphum Hospital.
Local police, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Thitipat Khamrangsi of the Chaiyaphum City Police Station, responded to the scene following a report received at 01:45. Authorities have since apprehended a 17-year-old suspect along with two other individuals for questioning. The primary suspect has reportedly claimed to have disposed of the firearm in a nearby body of water.
For residents and travelers in the area, this incident highlights a localized violent confrontation between youth groups. While the situation is currently under police investigation, it serves as a reminder to remain aware of surroundings when traveling late at night.
