Investigation Continues Following School Shooting Incident in Kamphaeng Phet
A 14-year-old student is in custody after a shooting incident at a school in Kamphaeng Phet, with authorities investigating the youth's motives and mental health history.
On September 3, 2026, police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police Region 6, Pol. Lt. Gen. Thammasak Pinthong, visited Wachiraprakarn Wittayakhom School in Kamphaeng Phet province to review a shooting incident involving a 14-year-old Grade 9 student. According to Khaosod Online, the situation was resolved without casualties due to effective emergency response protocols.
The student’s father confirmed that his son had been diagnosed with depression and was undergoing treatment. The youth reportedly stated that he acted out of anger, citing severe bullying by a close friend and frustration over a teacher allegedly disclosing his personal information. Following the incident, the student expressed remorse and stated he felt relieved after speaking with his family. He has been transferred to the Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Public Prosecutor's Office for legal proceedings.
