Nestlé Expands Pet Food Production in Thailand with 6.4 Billion Baht Investment
The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) has approved a 6.4 billion baht expansion by Nestlé (Thai) to boost pet food and treat production in Rayong.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) has approved a significant investment expansion by Nestlé (Thai) Ltd. The project, valued at over 6.4 billion baht, will be located at the Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong. The investment is divided into two main segments: approximately 4.5 billion baht for pet food production and 1.93 billion baht for pet treat manufacturing.
Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary-General of the BOI, noted that this expansion aims to leverage Thailand’s position as the world’s second-largest pet food exporter, trailing only Germany. The local pet food industry has seen consistent annual growth of over 8 percent. Nestlé plans to utilize domestic raw materials for these facilities, with more than 90 percent of the output designated for export to key markets, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
