Two Arrested for Online Gaming Fraud in Thailand
Thai authorities have apprehended two suspects accused of defrauding minors through fake online gaming item sales, resulting in hundreds of thousands of baht in losses.
On September 2, 2026, Khaosod Online Thailand reported that police from the Metropolitan Police Bureau and Bang Yai Station arrested two individuals, identified as Mr. Nattakit and Mr. Siriphong, following warrants issued by the Nonthaburi Provincial Court. The suspects were apprehended at separate locations in Bangkok.
According to police reports, the pair allegedly targeted children and teenagers within online gaming chat channels, posing as legitimate sellers to deceive victims into purchasing non-existent in-game weapons and items. The suspects face multiple charges, including public fraud, inputting false information into a computer system, and facilitating the misuse of bank accounts for illicit activities. Both individuals reportedly confessed to their involvement in the scheme, which resulted in financial damages totaling several hundred thousand baht.
