Fatal Pickup Truck Accident on Motorway Near Chonburi
A driver died after his pickup truck collided with a trailer and a concrete barrier on the motorway heading toward Pattaya.
On September 2, 2026, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the motorway at kilometer marker 82, located in the Nong Khang Khok sub-district of Chonburi province. According to reports from Khaosod Online Thailand, highway police were alerted to the incident at approximately 4:00 PM.
Authorities arriving at the scene discovered a white Isuzu D-Max pickup truck that had crashed into a concrete median barrier. The driver, a man estimated to be around 40 years old, was found deceased inside the vehicle. A white trailer truck, which sustained damage from a side collision, was found parked nearby. The driver of the trailer reported that the pickup truck had veered into his vehicle before striking the barrier.
For travelers and residents, this incident highlights the risks of sudden medical emergencies while driving on high-speed routes. Authorities suspect that the pickup driver may have suffered a sudden health episode, leading to the loss of vehicle control. As of the latest report, the identity of the deceased remains unconfirmed, as no identification documents were found at the scene.
