New 'Online Kitchen' Initiative Promotes Elderly Nutrition in Thailand
The Thai Media Fund has launched the 'Mae Kin Arai Dee' project to provide nutritional guidance for the elderly, aiming to improve healthspan and family well-being.
As Thailand transitions into a fully aged society, the Thai Media Fund for Safe and Creative Media has announced its support for the 'Mae Kin Arai Dee' (What Should Mom Eat?) project for 2026. According to Khaosod Online, the initiative focuses on creating an 'online kitchen' platform that offers practical nutritional advice and healthy menu recommendations tailored for elderly individuals.
Dr. Thanakorn Srisuksai, manager of the fund, stated that the project aims to extend 'healthspan'—the period of life spent in good health—rather than just increasing longevity. By providing accessible resources, the program seeks to help families and caregivers ensure that seniors remain mobile, independent, and physically active for as long as possible. The platform is designed to serve as both an educational resource and an online community for those managing the dietary needs of aging relatives.
For residents and long-term visitors, this initiative highlights a growing national focus on geriatric health and wellness. While the project provides a structured approach to senior nutrition, it remains to be seen how widely these digital resources will be adopted across different regions and whether the platform will offer localized dietary advice that accounts for diverse regional Thai cuisines. The project is currently in its initial implementation phase for 2026.
