TenPay Global and ShopeePay Launch QR Payment Services in China
ShopeePay users from Thailand and Southeast Asia can now make QR code payments in China through a new partnership with TenPay Global.
According to a report by Thai Post, TenPay Global, the cross-border payment platform operated by Tencent, has officially partnered with ShopeePay to enable digital payment services in China. As of August 20, 2026, users of the ShopeePay platform in Thailand and across Southeast Asia are able to utilize QR code scanning to complete transactions at participating merchants within China.
For travelers and residents from Thailand visiting China, this integration simplifies the payment process by allowing the use of a familiar digital wallet, potentially reducing the need to carry physical cash or navigate local banking systems. This development marks a significant expansion in cross-border financial connectivity for the region.
