Norwegian Seafood Council Launches New Campaign to Engage Thai Consumers

The Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) has introduced 'The Story from the Sea' campaign in Thailand to promote Norwegian seafood culture and sustainability.

On September 2, 2026, the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) announced the launch of its latest marketing initiative, 'The Story from the Sea,' aimed at the Thai market. According to Asbjørn Warvik Rørtveit, Regional Director for Southeast Asia, the campaign seeks to deepen the connection between Thai consumers and Norwegian seafood beyond just product quality.

While previous efforts focused heavily on premium items like salmon, fjord trout, and Norwegian mackerel, this new campaign utilizes storytelling to highlight the cultural significance of seafood in Norway. The initiative emphasizes the craftsmanship, community values, and sustainable production methods that define the Norwegian seafood industry. To support this push, the NSC is also introducing a 'Salmon Passport' promotion to stimulate sales during the second half of the year.

For residents and travelers in Thailand, this campaign signals a continued focus on Norwegian seafood availability in local markets and restaurants. It highlights the industry's effort to position Norway as a primary source of high-quality, sustainably sourced marine products. At this stage, specific details regarding the full duration of the 'Salmon Passport' promotion and the complete list of participating retail partners remain to be confirmed by the NSC.
