Authorities Seize Two Tons of Illegal Pork Skin in Nakhon Phanom

On September 1, 2026, officials from the Phra Phirun Center for Agricultural and Food Security (SOPR) successfully intercepted a shipment of illegal agricultural products in Nakhon Phanom province. According to a report by Khaosod Online, the operation involved a joint task force consisting of animal quarantine officers, border patrol police, and local law enforcement.
Acting on intelligence, authorities stopped a suspicious pickup truck with Udon Thani license plates near the Nam Kam bridge on Highway 3015 in That Phanom district. Upon inspection, officers discovered 99 sacks of frozen pork skin, totaling approximately 2,000 kilograms with an estimated value of 220,000 baht. The driver was intercepted as part of the center’s 'One Mission' initiative, which aims to proactively eliminate the smuggling of illicit agricultural goods.
For residents and travelers, this incident highlights ongoing government efforts to regulate food safety and prevent the distribution of uninspected animal products.
