US Firm to Manage Venezuelan Oil Fields Previously Held by China and Russia

North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP) is set to take over management of Venezuelan oil fields, marking a shift in energy control from Chinese and Russian interests to US-backed operations.

According to a report by Khaosod Online citing Reuters, the US-based company North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP) is preparing to manage oil fields in Venezuela that were previously under the control of five Chinese firms and one Russian company. This transition is part of a broader oil production agreement announced by US President Donald Trump and the Venezuelan government.

Under this arrangement, the US has secured access to approximately 64 billion barrels of Venezuela’s oil reserves through private sector cooperation. NABEP, now under the control of Venezuelan businessman Alejandro Betancourt, has been awarded 14 contracts as part of this initiative. The move is intended to replace long-standing Chinese and Russian influence in Venezuela’s energy sector, granting the US a direct role in the production and distribution of the country's oil resources.

For residents and travelers, this shift represents a significant realignment in global energy geopolitics. While the economic implications for the region are substantial, the long-term stability of these operations remains to be confirmed. Observers are waiting to see how the transition of management will affect local infrastructure and whether the projected production targets will be met under the new administration. The full scope of the operational handover and its impact on international energy markets is still unfolding.
