Tragic Triple Fatality Reported in Ubon Ratchathani
A family dispute over inherited land in Ubon Ratchathani has resulted in three deaths, including a former village headman.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a violent incident occurred on August 31, 2026, in the Trakan Phuet Phon district of Ubon Ratchathani province. Police discovered the body of 65-year-old Mr. Paiboon, a former village headman of Phon Mueang, near his rice field with gunshot wounds.
Authorities identified the primary suspect as the victim's 40-year-old nephew, Mr. Kriangsak. Following the initial shooting, police launched an investigation and tracked the suspect’s movements as he fled in a black Toyota Hilux Vigo. The situation concluded tragically when the suspect and a female companion were later found deceased inside the vehicle.
Investigators currently suspect that the motive behind the initial homicide was a long-standing conflict regarding inherited land.
