Police Subdue Distraught Foreign National in Bangkok Apartment
Bangkok police used a taser to apprehend a Chinese national who was holding a knife to his own throat in a Lat Phrao apartment.
On September 1, 2026, officers from the Sutthisan Police Station responded to an emergency call at an apartment complex located in Soi Lat Phrao 48, Huai Khwang district, Bangkok. According to Khaosod Online, police arrived to find a Chinese national, identified as Mr. Wang, in a state of extreme agitation. Reports indicate that the individual was allegedly under the influence of crystal methamphetamine and was holding a knife to his own throat.
To prevent harm to the individual and others, officers deployed a taser to subdue him. The suspect’s girlfriend reportedly informed authorities that she had been subjected to frequent physical abuse, which led to the situation escalating. The police team, led by Superintendent Pol. Col. Pornthep Chalermkiat, successfully secured the scene and took the man into custody.
