SEC Thailand Orders Block of Holdstation and UNO Platforms

Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission has initiated legal action against six individuals associated with Holdstation and UNO for operating unauthorized digital asset brokerage services.

On September 1, 2026, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand announced that it has filed a formal complaint with the Economic Crime Suppression Division against six individuals linked to the digital asset platforms Holdstation and UNO. The regulator alleges that these entities have been operating as digital asset brokers without the necessary licenses required under Thai law.

As a direct consequence of these findings, the SEC has requested that the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society block access to both platforms. This measure is scheduled to take effect on October 1, 2026. The regulator has issued a public advisory urging current users of these platforms to review their accounts and manage their digital assets before the access restriction is implemented.

For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this development serves as a reminder of the importance of verifying the regulatory status of financial service providers. Engaging with platforms that lack proper authorization may pose risks to asset security and legal recourse. While the SEC has taken decisive action to restrict access, it remains to be seen how the affected users will be able to retrieve or transfer their holdings once the block is active. Investors are encouraged to monitor official SEC announcements for further guidance regarding the transition period.
