The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation has introduced a three-pillar strategy to integrate artificial intelligence into Thailand’s national development.
On September 1, 2026, the Thai Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) announced a new strategic framework for artificial intelligence (AI) adoption. During an event held at the Asawin Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok, Sriyada Palimaphan, advisor to the Minister, presented three core pillars intended to guide the country’s technological advancement: ensuring universal access to AI, establishing technological sovereignty, and implementing practical AI solutions that address national needs.
This policy was unveiled during a ceremony celebrating the achievements of the 2026 Frontier Technology project, which is managed by the Regional Science Park Consortium. The initiative aims to leverage regional science parks to boost Thailand’s competitive edge in innovation.
