SEC Thailand Penalizes 22 Individuals for Stock Manipulation
Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission has imposed civil penalties totaling 192.86 million baht on 22 individuals involved in manipulating TPL and META stocks.
On September 1, 2026, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand announced civil enforcement actions against 22 individuals for their roles in manipulating the price and trading volume of shares in Thai Parcel Public Company Limited (TPL) and Meta Corporation Public Company Limited (META). According to Khaosod Online, the regulator has ordered the offenders to pay a combined total of 192.86 million baht in civil penalties.
In addition to the financial fines, the SEC has imposed bans on these individuals, prohibiting them from trading securities or derivatives and barring them from serving as directors or executives of listed companies. Specifically, regarding the TPL case, four individuals—Ms. Or-on Akraseranee, Mr. Pakawan Wong-opasi, Ms. Arissa Singzom, and Ms. Kanjanarat Wongphan—were ordered to pay a collective sum of 20.29 million baht.
For residents and investors in Thailand, this enforcement highlights the regulator's ongoing efforts to maintain market integrity and transparency. While these penalties address past misconduct, the broader impact on the operational stability of TPL and META remains to be seen. Investors should monitor official SEC disclosures for further updates regarding the specific duration of the trading bans and any potential long-term implications for the governance of the affected companies.
