Thai Muay Thai Team Departs for 2026 World Championships in Kosovo
The Thai national Muay Thai team has received official support and encouragement before traveling to Kosovo to compete in the 2026 Senior World Championships.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the Thai national Muay Thai team, accompanied by management and coaching staff, met with Major General Patchara Rattakul, Chairman of the Muay Thai Promotion Working Group, on August 31. During the meeting at Haad Thip Public Company Limited, the athletes received official guidance and financial support to boost morale ahead of their departure for Deçan, Kosovo.
The team is set to participate in the 'Senior World Championships 2026,' which runs from September 1 to September 11, 2026. This event marks the second stage of the 2026 world championship series, following an initial competition held in Malaysia this past June. For residents and travelers interested in the sport, this tournament is significant as it serves as a crucial platform for athletes to accumulate world ranking points, which are essential for qualifying for the upcoming World Games and World Combat Games.
While the team has officially departed with the backing of the Muay Thai Association of Thailand, the final results of the competition remain to be determined.
