Thai Airways Launches Search for New CEO
Thai Airways has officially opened the recruitment process for its next Chief Executive Officer, with applications accepted from September 7 to 27, 2026.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, Thai Airways (THAI) has initiated the search for a successor to its current CEO, Chai Eamsiri, whose term is scheduled to conclude in early 2027. The airline is accepting applications for the position from September 7 through September 27, 2026.
To be eligible, candidates must hold Thai nationality, be no older than 65 years of age, and possess at least a master’s degree. Furthermore, the airline requires applicants to have significant high-level management experience within large, complex organizations, specifically at the N-1, CEO, or Managing Director level. A deep understanding of the aviation industry or airline business context is also a mandatory requirement. For internal candidates, the airline specifies that they must currently hold or have previously held a level 13 position.
For residents and travelers, this leadership transition is significant as it marks a pivotal moment for the national carrier’s strategic direction following its post-rehabilitation phase. While the recruitment timeline is set, the final selection process and the identity of the successful candidate remain to be confirmed. The airline has not yet disclosed the specific timeline for the final appointment following the close of the application window.
