13-Year-Old Student Develops AI 'Virtual Parent' App, Generating Significant Revenue
A middle school student from Shanghai has gained online attention after creating an AI-powered application that earned 89,000 THB in just three days.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a 13-year-old student named Zhu Suhan from Shanghai has successfully developed a 'Virtual Parent' application using AI tools. Despite having no prior programming experience, the middle school student created the app to assist with monitoring children's homework.
The project was developed during a national AI product marketing competition held in Hangzhou between August 21 and 23, which featured over 50 participants. The competition focused on the revenue-generating potential of AI products rather than technical coding skills. Within three days of the competition, the application reportedly generated 18,000 yuan, equivalent to approximately 89,000 Thai Baht.
For residents and travelers in Thailand, this story highlights the rapidly lowering barrier to entry for software development through generative AI. As AI tools become more accessible, individuals without traditional technical backgrounds are increasingly able to launch functional, revenue-generating digital products.
