Newborn Infant Found Abandoned in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai
A five-day-old baby girl was discovered abandoned in tall grass by a passerby in Chiang Mai province; police are currently investigating.
On the morning of September 1, 2026, local authorities in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai, responded to a report of an abandoned infant. According to Khaosod Online, a person exercising in the Ban Pho Thong Charoen area heard crying coming from roadside vegetation. Upon investigation, they discovered a female infant wrapped in a brown towel.
Police officers arrived at the scene and transported the child to Doi Saket Hospital. Medical staff confirmed the infant is approximately five days old and, while suffering from fatigue, is in stable physical condition. The child is currently under close medical supervision, and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) has been contacted to provide protective care.
