Thai Cabinet Approves National Disaster Insurance Scheme for 30 Million Households

According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Thai Cabinet has officially approved the principles of a national disaster insurance system. This initiative aims to provide coverage for 30 million households across the country. Under the proposed framework, the government will subsidize insurance premiums to protect citizens against three specific types of disasters.

For residents and property owners, the scheme offers significant financial safeguards. In the event of property damage, affected households can receive compensation of up to 100,000 baht. Furthermore, the policy includes a death benefit of 2 million baht. Government spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek confirmed that the Cabinet has endorsed the plan, marking a significant step toward enhancing national disaster resilience.
