Sripatum University Hosts AI Prompt Hackathon for Thai Youth

According to Khaosod Online Thailand, Sripatum University’s Faculty of Information Technology organized the fourth iteration of the 'SPU AI Prompt Mini Hackathon 2026: PromptVerse – Code the Future.' The event was designed to equip Thai youth with essential digital competencies, including analytical thinking, prompt engineering, teamwork, and digital innovation.

The competition attracted 299 participants from 106 teams across 99 schools nationwide. Students were tasked with using artificial intelligence to solve real-world problems creatively, with guidance provided by student teaching assistants from the 'SPU AI Spark Club.' The total prize pool for the event was 30,000 baht. Assistant Professor Dr. Wirach Lertpaitoonpan was noted as a key figure in the initiative.

For residents and expatriates, this event highlights the growing emphasis on AI literacy within Thailand’s educational landscape, signaling a shift toward a more tech-integrated workforce. Such initiatives suggest that local institutions are actively preparing the next generation for a digital-first economy.
