Nang Rong Prison in Buriram has suspended family visits in three zones for 30 days due to COVID-19 cases and a scabies outbreak.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Nang Rong Prison in Buriram Province has implemented a 30-day suspension of in-person family visits. This measure affects three specific areas: Zone 1, Zone 3, and the intake zone. The decision follows the detection of approximately 50 COVID-19 cases among inmates, alongside multiple reports of scabies infections within the facility.
Nang Rong Prison currently houses approximately 2,300 male and female inmates. Prison commander Chairat Phoksuphat stated that the facility is prioritizing hygiene and medical treatment, with infected individuals being isolated in designated areas to facilitate care and prevent further transmission. The suspension is intended to control the spread of these illnesses within the prison population.
