Police Raid Warehouse Seizing Over 16,000 Counterfeit Memory Cards
Thai authorities have seized thousands of fake memory cards in Pathum Thani following reports of data loss and malware infections.
On September 1, 2026, the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) of the Thai police executed a search warrant at a warehouse in the Khlong Luang district of Pathum Thani province. According to Khaosod Online, officers confiscated 16,245 counterfeit memory cards bearing various brand names, including Oppo, SanDisk, HP, Xiaomi, Kingston, and FNK Vision.
The operation followed numerous complaints from consumers who reported that the devices were faulty, often containing malware that corrupted user data or falsely advertised their storage capacity. The raid was led by high-ranking officials from the ECD, who are now working to identify and apprehend the foreign investors and other individuals involved in the distribution network.
