Pattaya Restricts US Navy Personnel Access to Specific Areas
Pattaya authorities have declared certain streets and cannabis shops off-limits to visiting US Navy personnel during the upcoming arrival of the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group.
According to a report by Khaosod English, Pattaya officials have implemented new movement restrictions for US Navy personnel during the scheduled visit of the USS Abraham Lincoln and two accompanying vessels to Chon Buri. During a security and facilitation meeting held at Pattaya City Hall on August 31, 2026, authorities designated Soi 6, Soi 6/1, and Soi 7 as restricted zones.
In addition to these specific streets, the directive prohibits visiting service members from entering cannabis shops. These measures were finalized under the leadership of the Pattaya mayor to manage the conduct and safety of the visiting fleet.
For residents and travelers, these restrictions primarily impact the operational environment of the specified nightlife areas during the fleet's stay.
