Jobsdb Report Highlights Disconnect Between Salary Fairness and Satisfaction in Thailand

A recent study by Jobsdb by SEEK reveals that while most Thai employees perceive their salaries as fair, only half are truly satisfied with their compensation.

According to a report published by Prachachat Business based on data from Jobsdb by SEEK, there is a notable gap between perceived salary fairness and actual job satisfaction among the Thai workforce. The study indicates that 83% of surveyed employees consider their current compensation to be fair; however, only 50% expressed genuine satisfaction with their earnings.

The findings suggest that dissatisfaction with pay is a significant driver of labor mobility, with unhappy employees being 2.2 times more likely to seek new employment opportunities. Furthermore, the data highlights that 86% of those who proactively negotiated their salaries successfully received an adjustment, suggesting that communication remains a viable path for compensation changes in a competitive market. The report also notes a growing intolerance among Thai workers for toxic workplace environments.

For residents and expatriates, this data underscores the current dynamics of the Thai labor market, where professional mobility is high and employees are increasingly assertive regarding their workplace conditions and compensation. While the report provides a clear snapshot of current sentiment, it remains to be confirmed how these trends will influence long-term corporate retention strategies or future wage growth across different sectors. As the market remains highly competitive, both employers and employees are navigating a landscape where transparency and negotiation play critical roles in professional stability.
