Thailand Considers Extending Airport Rail Link Transition Period

According to a report by Prachachat Business, Thailand’s Ministry of Transport is preparing to negotiate with the private operator of the Airport Rail Link to extend the handover period by one to three months. Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn stated that this measure is intended to prevent any disruption to public service during the transition.

For residents and travelers, this development is significant as it aims to maintain seamless operations on the rail line connecting the city to Suvarnabhumi Airport. The Ministry has emphasized that if the private entity proceeds with the handover, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is prepared to assume full management responsibilities to ensure that passenger services remain unaffected.
