On the morning of September 1, 2026, a significant fire broke out in a wooden community located along a canal in the Makkasan area of Bangkok. According to Khaosod English, authorities were notified of the blaze near the Mit Samphan intersection on Sukhumvit 3 Road in the Ratchathewi district at approximately 02:35.
Emergency responders, including firefighters from multiple stations utilizing over 10 water trucks, were deployed to combat the flames. Despite their efforts, the fire resulted in the destruction of 15 homes. Tragically, officials confirmed that one person was found dead at the scene.
