Specialized teams have begun clearing debris at the Klong Thom Center to allow forensic investigators to determine the cause of the recent fire.
On August 31, 2026, specialized demolition and security teams from Piyamit Group began operations at the Klong Thom Center, which was recently damaged by a fire. According to reports from Khaosod Online, the teams are utilizing backhoes to remove structural debris and obstructions, specifically targeting 'Zone C' of the facility. This controlled demolition is intended to create safe access for forensic experts to enter the site and investigate the origin of the blaze.
While demolition crews work to clear a path, firefighters remain on-site, periodically spraying water to manage residual heat within the structure. At approximately 2:10 PM, forensic investigators conducted an initial 15-minute inspection of the area before coordinating with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and the Department of Public Works to continue the clearing process. Once the area is deemed sufficiently accessible, forensic teams plan to return for a more thorough investigation.
