A 54-year-old university lecturer was discovered dead in her Nakhon Ratchasima residence after failing to attend classes.
On August 31, 2026, local police in Nakhon Ratchasima were notified of a death at a residence in Nong Krathum sub-district. According to Khaosod Online, officers discovered the body of 54-year-old Ms. Warisara, a lecturer in the Tourism Industry program at Vongchavalitkul University, inside her bedroom.
Initial police investigations found no signs of physical trauma or foul play, and it is estimated that she had been deceased for at least 24 hours. Colleagues had raised concerns after she failed to report for her teaching duties, which was uncharacteristic for her. After unsuccessful attempts to contact her, they visited her home alongside community leaders to check on her well-being.
Authorities have preliminarily suggested that the death may be linked to underlying health conditions, specifically hypertension and diabetes, for which the professor was receiving regular medical treatment. She lived alone, which may have prevented her from receiving assistance when her condition worsened. The body has been transported to Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital for a formal forensic autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death.
