Thai State-Owned Enterprises Report Strong Investment Progress
Thailand's State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) reports that state-owned enterprises have disbursed 196.5 billion baht in investments over the first ten months of the fiscal year.
According to Khaosod Online, the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) has announced that 43 state-owned enterprises have successfully disbursed 196,576 million baht in investment funds between October 2025 and July 2026. This figure represents 77% of the total annual investment budget of 253,852 million baht. SEPO Director Thibadee Wattanakul expressed confidence that the final disbursement rate will reach at least 95% by the end of the fiscal year in September 2026.
Key infrastructure projects driving this spending include the State Railway of Thailand’s Den Chai-Chiang Rai-Chiang Khong rail line, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority’s Purple Line extension (Tao Poon-Rat Burana), and the first phase of the Thai-Chinese high-speed railway connecting Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima.
For residents and travelers, this progress signals a continued commitment to large-scale infrastructure development, which may lead to improved connectivity and modernized transport networks in the coming years. While the current disbursement rate is positive, the final impact on project completion timelines remains to be confirmed as the government enters the final quarter of the fiscal year. These investments are viewed by officials as a vital mechanism for stimulating the national economy and maintaining investor confidence.
