Authorities Seize 5 Million Methamphetamine Pills in Maha Sarakham

On August 31, 2026, Border Patrol Police Region 2 announced the successful interception of a major drug trafficking operation in Maha Sarakham province. According to a report by Khaosod Online, officers raided a rental house in Don Na village, Kham Riang sub-district, Kantharawichai district, following a tip-off regarding a drug shipment destined for central Thailand.

During the operation, authorities arrested a 26-year-old suspect identified as Anucha. A search of a black Isuzu D-Max pickup truck parked at the premises revealed 12 black sacks containing approximately 5 million methamphetamine pills, estimated to have a street value of over 170 million baht. The suspect reportedly confessed to the crime, claiming it was his first time transporting drugs and that he had been hired by a Laotian financier for a fee of 100,000 baht.
